Each Friday, students put on their safety goggles, grab real tools, and work with real pipes and fittings to learn one of the most useful trades there is.
Over six weeks, students explore how water moves through a home, from the supply lines that bring it in to the drains that carry it away. They learn to identify common fittings like elbows, tees, and couplings, measure and connect PVC and copper pipe, and use the tools a plumber relies on, from wrenches to thread-seal tape. As their skills grow, they tackle hands-on challenges like sealing a leaky joint and building a working water line as a team.
This class is all about problem-solving. Pipes have to fit, joints have to seal, and when something drips, students work together to figure out why. That kind of trial and error builds real critical thinking, and the thrill of watching water run cleanly through something you built is hard to beat.
