A needle, some thread, and a pile of colorful fabric are all it takes to open up a world of creativity. In Sewing, kids learn a timeless life skill while designing and making pieces they’ll actually use. Every Tuesday afternoon, students gather around the sewing table to stitch, pin, and create alongside friends.
Over six weeks, students build a strong foundation in both hand and machine sewing. They learn essential hand stitches, how to thread a needle and tie a secure knot, and how to use a sewing machine safely and with confidence. From there they learn to measure, cut, and pin fabric, follow a simple pattern, and choose fabrics and colors that bring their ideas to life. Each week builds toward a finished project that students sew from start to finish.
Sewing is wonderfully practical, but it’s also deeply creative. Kids discover how satisfying it is to turn flat fabric into something with shape and purpose, and how fixing a loose seam or sewing on a button is a skill they’ll use forever. The class moves at a relaxed, encouraging pace, with plenty of support for beginners and room for more experienced students to take on extra challenges.
